  Most people hoped for goals from Real vs City, but not many could afford to risk $10,000 on the Champions League quarter-final first leg encounter. Aguero could, though, and got himself a near double profit, bringing home $18,900 after Rodrygo's 14th minute goal made it 2-1 to Real and sealed the over 2.5 goals bet.

  The bet was not as innocent as it first seemed, with Aguero having a partnership with Stake.com, with whom he placed it. His post on Instagram no doubt acted as a promotional piece.

  Aguero's post included a picture of him scoring for Manchester City against Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Argentine was never able to lift the European trophy at the Etihad Stadium, but still left the club as a legend in 2021, having scored a record 260 goals for City across all competitions.
