Manchester United are considering a shock move to sign one of the best crossers in world football for Ruben Amorim.

Man Utd lacking creativity without their skipper

The Red Devils are set to welcome struggling Wolves to Old Trafford this week, with Amorim confirming his skipper Bruno Fernandes will miss the final fixture of the calendar year.

“Bruno was already saying that he needs to train, but we don’t know,” Amorim said ahead of Tuesday’s clash with a Wolves side who have just two points to their name.

“No chance he is going to play against Wolves. No chance. You can write that.”

Fernandes was in some of the best form of his United career when he picked up a muscle injury in the defeat at Aston Villa, scoring five times and providing seven assists in the Premier League this season.

The Portuguese star’s absence leaves United without a creative force in midfield, with Amorim’s starters against Newcastle – Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte – registering just a solitary assist between them in the league this season.

And with rumours circulating that this phenomenal Bruno season could be his last in a red shirt, INEOS are in the market for players who can provide goals and assists from midfield, having already held talks with Mali star Lassine Sinayoko.

According to reports in Spain, INEOS could look to fill Bruno’s creativity void with a shock move for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The former Liverpool star has failed to settle in Madrid, struggling for form and fitness, starting just five times in La Liga despite being one of Real’s highest earners on £280,000-a-week.

According to the report, United, along with Newcastle and Manchester City, would have “no problem” paying €40m (£35m) if Madrid decide to cash in, but the England international wants to fight for his place for now.

Alexander-Arnold’s defending has often been called into question, but there’s no doubting the influence he could have in replacing Bruno’s creative output, with Denis Irwin even comparing him to David Beckham.

Alexander-Arnold has just two assists to his name since moving to Madrid but racked up 67 in 259 appearances in England’s top flight.
